Hello! It’s Kari today sharing a couple cards with Sentimental Stems. This has been a popular one for this release and at the time of writing this post, the main set is sold out! But don’t worry, it’s on order and will be back soon…

So I decided to go ahead and share my cards for some inspiration!

Fussy Cutting vs. No Fussy Cutting

I created a video to share some tips and techniques for both of these cards. Watch it below or in HD on YouTube:

Card 1: No Fussy Cutting

For this card, part of the charm is the background stencil! Here I used a three-layered stencil with Bubblegum, Flamingo, and Tiptree Jam ink. Once the background was done, I stamped on three of the flowers from the Sentimental Stems stamp set.

To make those flowers stand out, I added some prismacolor pencils and blended them out with gamsol. Then I used a light grey marker to outline the flowers…this makes them pop off the background even more.

I used the same love stem for all three flowers, and angled them all toward the center to give it a “bouquet” look.

For the last addition, I adhered some Rah Rah Skirt gems.

Card 2: Fussy Cutting Florals

For this card, I inked on some Hyde Park ink and Tiptree Jam ink. Then I stamped on the three stems, using different sentimental words this time.

I colored up some flowers with Copic markers and fussy cut them out. For that extra dimension, I used a bit of foam tape (with extra foam tape on the center flower).

I also made a purple version!

I’m often asked what supplies I have used, so I have included a list here for you, using affiliate links when possible. If you purchase these products using these links, I may receive a small commission at no extra cost to you. A big thank you if you use these links!

I hope you enjoyed these projects today! Use any stencils you have and any color combination you like to create different looks.

If you re-create any of these, please tag us on Social Media @Maker.Forte and @Kariavan on Instagram. Or upload to Facebook at The Crafter Party so we can see what you create!

Thanks for stopping by!
