Hello friends! Katy here and today I am playing with some Color Hive Inks. I have this simple abstract one layer card for you using only Color Hive Inks and because of the colors I chose it makes a perfect masculine card for any occasion.
The technique is pretty simple. I used some wedge style make-up sponges and inked up the narrow (thin) side and used some pressure to swipe the ink down the cardstock. I swiped each color three times in different directions and then filled in to leave a small amount of white space.
What makes this technique so great is that anyone can do it, no need to be perfect with your swiping. In fact it’s the imperfection that makes the panel. You could also do this technique with blending brushes, but I wanted to make this card assessable to everyone and you can pick up these sponges at the dollar store, so everyone can create this type of background.
I have a video tutorial below that shows the technique and how quick this card came together. This is a great project if you need something last minute. If you have trouble watching here on the blog, click here to watch on Youtube.
