It’s Kaja from Kajcyika crafts and today I have prepared a bold floral card for you. I will also share a simple trick how to add details to watercolored image!
Take a look at the card:
I started making this card by stamping out the gorgeous flower from You matter to me stamp set. The paper used is watercolor friendly, which means that I can color the image with ZIG watercolor markers. I decided to use 2 colors for the blooms — purple for the base and yellow for the centers.
I love coloring with watercolors since you don’t need many of them to achive gorgeous results. Next, I used green color for the stems. I achived the shadows by watering the colors down with water which is really simple!
Now to the trick I used! Once I had everything colored in and and made sure it was dry, I took a purple colored pencil that matches the ZIG marker and added some colored dots. I made sure that I made more dots towards the center which creates a deeper look. Simple but super effective!
Next I took a piece of black and white dotted paper from the ‘black to basics patterned square‘ paper pack. I added it to the right hand side of the flower. I then glued the floral image, so it looks like a floral border among the white part of the card and the dotted paper.
Last thing that I added was a sentiment that reads ‘Just because’ and can also be found in You matter to me stamp set. I used black in and stamped it on the left part of the flower.
This finished off the card! Let me know in the comments what is your favorite thick for adding dimention to the colored image!
