Hey makers! Did you know you can color over stenciled backgrounds and obtain one of kind results? Today I am using the Chin Up Buttercup stamp set along with two Maker Forte stencils resulting in a clean and simple design. I hope you will give this a try the next time you’re looking to do something a little different. I promise, it isn’t hard to do!
This could very well be a one layer card, but I happen to love texture and dimension, and a thin black matting layer to make my cards pop. But of course, create in the style that you love. I started this card off by masking the card front panel with the Spotlight Circle Stencil and temporarily adhered it with Pixie Spray. Next I blended Lemon Color Hive ink through the circle, and then applied the Hexagon Burst Stencil over it. I then, blended the colors of Bubblegum and Blue Moon through it creating subtle washes of color.
Once the stenciling was complete, I stamped the Chin Up Buttercup floral with Eclipse Black ink so that the sentiment hugged the circle. Thankfully, the stamp set is all one piece and curved so lining it up was easy. Additionally I stamped the sub sentiment and die cut into an oval. I also punched two holes into it to create the “tag”. Next I used 2-3 color blends of Copics to color the floral. You can find all of the details on the accompanied video and you will be pleasantly surprised at how fast this card came together!
