Hi there! It’s Jen S and I’m up on the blog today super excited to join the team! AND super excited to be here celebrating a new release, Christmas in July!

To check out the process video for these cards –

I have to be honest though, I’m usually a Christmas in November cardmaker, haha! I seriously don’t usually start making Christmas cards until then. But, with the Maker Forte New Release, I’ve already completed two cards and I predict that I’ll have even more than that done before the month is over. When do you usually start on your holiday cards?

For today’s cards, I will be using the Cathedral Skys Slimline Layering Die Set. WOW! This is an amazing die set!

For this card, I used one piece of Kraft cardstock and two pieces of Maker Forte Snow Flurries Metallic cardstock. Although the die set includes five dies, I will be using one of the dies twice to create a sixth layer for my card.

Although the dies can be placed in any order; aesthetically, the first three layers look best when combined in order. If you don’t know in what order to place the die cuts, the package that the dies come in shows the dies in order. You can also tell the order by looking at the dies themselves…..the first three go in order from thickest (the bottom layer) to thinnest.

To cut the cardstock, I used a Spellbinders Platinum machine. I ran the dies through the machine three times. I then used the Crafters Magic Wand to help get the little paper pieces out of the dies.

For the bottom layer, I used a piece of white glitter cardstock from my stash and then layered the die cuts on top of that. I used a Fineline liquid glue to adhere each layer.

To finish the card off, I added a sentiment from the Simple Sayings Holiday’s For All. I also added Crown Jewel Gems in Rollerskates and Celtic Green.

For the second card, the process was the same with a few changes. The layers were created with white cardstock and Bristol Smooth cardstock colored in Salvaged Patina Distress Spray. A stamped image was added using the stamp set, For You My Deer. The final touch was to add a few Nuvo gems.

That’s it for me today, thanks for stopping by!
