Hello, Sharon here with some inspiration for a birthday card for dad. How cute are the Splat Bears:

I love these little bears and climbing on dad is what kids (even bear kids!) love. I started my card with the Bokeh Circle Stencil Set. Using the 2nd smallest stencil and Blue Moon Ink I brushed the ink onto Bristol Smooth Cardstock. This looks pretty on its own but to make it more interesting I added Icy Mist Ink through the smallest stencil. The background looks so pretty.

I like to use my Make Art Stay-tion when stenciling but I don’t use the magnet. My clumsy hands usually knock them out of place and move the stencil.

Next was these cute bears! Eclipse Black Ink stamped the outline and I colored them with alcohol markers.

I want to arrange these with the little one on his dad’s back so I fussy cut them. When fussy cutting I often leave a white edge but this wouldn’t look right on my design. So I cut along the black outline.

You’re Truly Fabulous makes a great sentiment stamp set for all occasions. Yes there are some great relation stamps but there are some nice clear occasion stamps too. I used ‘Dad’ and ‘Happy Birthday’ from this set. I do like to adapt my stamps to fit my needs. The happy birthday is in a single strip but snipping it in two makes it more useful. Now I have separate happy and birthday! Eclipse Black Ink is great for sentiments, it give clean crisp image and a dark black to the words.

My little bear is wishing his dad a happy birthday. I achieved this by die cutting my sentiments with Well Said Dies. These are for the Simple Sayings but the speech bubbles are great also for any sentiment or image that fits inside them.

My card is an A2 landscape card so folding an A2 Side Folding Card Base is so much easier than cutting and folding your own. I matted this with Welsh Dragon Cardstock to bring out the Blue moon Ink on my stenciled card.

Doesn’t that stenciled card look great? I didn’t use all 4 stencils as I didn’t want it to be too busy for my design.

To achieve dimension I used foam squares to adhere the images to my card. I doubled up the foam on the little bear so he looks as though he’s climbed on top of his dad.

Foam squares also hold my speech bubbles to the card.

Thank you for taking time to read my post and if you love these bears they are a great set for any occasion.
