Hello friends, Katy here and by now you may have noticed I like to create quick and easy cards. Well today is no different and as usual I got carried away and made a few panels thinking I would make a variety of cards like thank you, happy birthday, just a note etc…but I decided once the panels were done they just screamed sympathy cards to me and while we may not want to create them, we need them and this will give me a few for those unexpected times.

What I love about this project is I only used one ink color, so if you don’t have many ink colors, have no fear you can create a panel using this technique with any color. For todays project I am using the new Floating Gingkos Stamp Set with Color Hive Tartan Teal Ink and gold embossing powder.

I think sympathy cards can be right up there with masculine cards as far as difficulty goes, at least for some crafters and today I want to show you that it doesn’t have to be. Using a soothing color palette is the way to go and with the beautiful Tartan Teal Ink and gold embossing powder you can create a very versatile palette for both sympathy and masculine card ideas.

I have a video tutorial showing how I created the background, don’t be surprised if you see it around here again…it’s that easy to create!

And just remember, if you are a beginner crafter, just take each step one at a time and you too will get the same results. I promise!

Below is the video tutorial that best shows the technique and as always if you have trouble watching here on the blog, you can click here to watch on Youtube.

I love, love, love how these panels turned out with the gold embossing and Tartan Teal combo, it looks so beautiful together. Tartan Teal is one of my most favorite Color Hive Inks and as I mentioned earlier these cards can easily be turned into thank you, birthday, just a note, and so many more. I also used some Kaleidoscope shimmer spray in Asteroid to liquify my Tartan Teal to give a subtle shimmer to the background. The video shows all the details, so be sure and check it out.
