I think one of the most versatile and cost effective tools you can use for cardmaking is a stencil or a stencil set. They are inexpensive and there are endless techniques that you can do with them to create beautiful cards.
I’m going to share two cards using stencils with you today!
Maker Forte has AMAZING stencils! Check out this layered stencil set!

I used my distress oxide inks in the following colors: dried marigold, fossilized amber, scattered straw, peeled paint, mowed lawn, and twisted citron.
You can see all the details in my video below!!
I started with the darkest yellow and green on the stencil with the least amount of open space. This allowed me to work my way up to the lightest colors and the stencil with the most open space.

I used a sentiment from the Simple Sayings Birthday cut aparts along with a few Crown Jewel Gems to finish off the card.
This card took less than 10 minutes!

The second card uses a technique that Alexandra shared in the Lift Your Spirits video class this past week. I just had to give it a try!
I used Vicki Boutin Iridescent Glaze and the Rah Rah Skirt, Purple Rain, and Acid Wash reinkers. This one required about an hour of drying time, but the making of the card was about 10 minutes.

I used one of the birthday sentiments and some of the Rhubarb gems to cover up one spot where the glaze snuck under the stencil leaving a smudge.
There is a fix for everything!
You can see this fabulous technique in the video below.
