Hello makers! Joy here with you today! I’m a huge fan of color blocking, and I love that Maker Forte has made it so easy for us to create fun backgrounds with the Line ’em Up stencil and their beautiful Color Hive Inks. I think color blocking lends itself well with silhouette stamping so I paired it with the Long Stem Rose white rubber stamp set. I think you’re going to love how this came together.

Creating this color block background was quite easy using the Line ’em Up stencil which I blended Color Hive inks through in the colors Bubble Gum, Tiptree Jam, Yellowstone, Blue Moon, Blue Raspberry, Blueberry Cheesecake, and Sugar Plum. I used a stippling or mini blending brushes to apply the inks because some of the areas are thin, but you definitely could use any type of blending tool that you have on hand for the same results.

Once the blending was complete, I heat embossed the Long Stem Roses image using Eclipse Black Color Hive Ink and clear embossing powder. I also stamped one of the sentiments from the same set onto Eclipse Black cardstock with Embossing Glue Ink and embossed it with white fine detail powder. From there I trimmed the color blocked panel to 3.25 x 5.5 inches and adhered it to an A2 top folding Perfect Fold Cardbase. Next, I added a 1/4 inch strip of the Eclipse Black Cardstock to each side to frame the panel. To finish off the card, I added some white detail to the rectangle sentiment panel with a gel pen before popping it up on foam tape. Pretty simple, right?
