Hello crafty friends! Joy here today bringing you beautiful, but easy to create ink blended background to accentuate the Deer To Me die set. I’m curious, do you struggle with masculine cards? I sometimes do too, but when I saw this die I knew I had a winner! Let’s get started…
I loved Deer to Me so much, that I made two cards almost exactly alike. The fact that I lost camera footage of the first card maybe played a little role too. But anyhow I really do love this die and am very impressed with the quality of cut I obtained and that’s exactly where I started my card making process. After die cutting onto Eclipse cardstock I used the Crafter’s Magic Wand to weed out the pieces with ease.
Next, I created the background to showcase Deer to Me, using Distress Oxide inks in the colors, Ripe Persimmon, Antique Linen, Evergreen Bough, Chipped Sapphire and Black Soot. I love how this night sky came out, but isn’t it curious why the orange and green didn’t make brown? Well that’s because I broke it up with Antique Linen which has a yellow undertone making that blend possible. I added a few splatters of white paint to create the sky. While the background was drying, I stamped a sentiment on the inside of the Slimline Perfect Fold card base using the Color Hive Eclipse ink. After that I adhered the Deer To Me die cut piece onto the background and then applied Sugar Sparkle- Moon Dust glitter with Crystal Clear Maker’s Magic Glue to add a little shimmer and shine to my project! You know I love me some dimension, so I had to pop up the panel with foam tape before applying it to the card base. But that pretty much wraps up my card for today!
I created a short process video if you would like to check it out.
