Hello! It’s Kari here with some Easy Summer Cards to share! I love this new set from Maker Forte and it pairs so well with the A2 circle stencil! Today I have a video of how to create an interesting background on your summer cards.

They really are very easy to make…and mix & match your background colors for a lot of fun looks! Watch the video how-to below or in HD on YouTube:

I found that my favorite way to start off, was to stamp the image with black ink and heat emboss with clear embossing powder. That way, you can blend on the background and the excess ink wipes away easily off the embossing.

For the palm tree card, I placed the circle stencil over the top and ink blended on 3 colors of Distress Ink: Shabby Shutters, Salvaged Patina, and Lucky Clover. Then I added the Spotlight Stencil add-on and inked the same colors over the top. It gives you a fun design in the background!

For the hammock card, I used Kitsch Flamingo, Spun Sugar, and Dried Marigold Distress Oxides. I chose a circle design for this one…doesn’t it look dreamy?!

I hope you enjoyed these projects today! I’ll be back soon with more cards to share.
