Hi there! Jen here today with a fun faux watercoloring technique using Color Hive Inks and the stamp sets Live Life in Full Bloom and Love and Courage.
Step 1
I started by cutting a piece of Bristol smooth cardstock to 4 ¼ x 5 ½. Using a black pigment ink, I stamp the large flower group from the stamp set Live Life in Full Bloom on the bottom of the cardstock.
Step 2
Using black pigment ink again, I stamped the beautiful sentiment from the Love and Courage stamp set above the already stamped flower group.
Step 3
Masks were then created for both the sentiment and the flower group. (A mask is a stamped image onto a piece of masking paper, or something with a sticky side) The masks were the fussy cut and applied over the originally stamped images.
Step 4
The flower group was then stamped multiple times moving up towards the top of the card panel. The flower mask was moved as needed.
Step 5
Color Hive inks in Rah Rah Skirt, Sugar Plum and Purple Rain were swatched onto a craft mat. Then, a brush was dipped into water and then dipped into the swatched color. This color was then painted onto the center of the stamped flowers. A water bottle was then used to spray the colored images creating a watercolor effect.
Step 6
The stems of the flowers were then colored with the Color Hive ink Limewired.
Step 7
After the panel had dried completely, white ink was used to add splatter to the panel.
Step 8
To finish the card off, Black Eclipse gems were added.

I hope you create something today! Thanks so much for stopping by!
