Good day to everyone! I am sharing a simple but festive birthday card today. I am using a layer stencil called ”Party Time” and a ”Simple Sayings” sentiment to create this card”. These Maker Forte products from the recent release are quite easy to work into creative cards. Read along to see how simple this card is to make.

The first step was to imagine what my end product will be and set about collecting or creating the pieces for assembly. I like to start with the background or layers. Since this card is going to be a 5”x7” card with a sentiment layer I knew it could handle a large sentiment. At this time I decided to foil the large sentiment and add the thin strips of black card stock to set off the stenciling. At this time I cut two thin strips. I also used a small sentiment from the Simple Sayings pack to go along with the larger one. The large sentiment needed a layer to set it apart from the card front. I decided to use the same color of card stock as the card base to tie the two together.

Now for the main part of the card known as the focal image. The next step was to cut a card base and a layer one for a 5” x 7” card. At this point I decided to stencil on only a section of the card. I decided at this point to use multiple ink colors starting with the balloons. After stenciling the the balloons I stenciled the confetti layer using the same four colors.

The final step is the assembly. I attached the black strips on both sides of the stenciled area. Next I used foam dots on the layered sentiment square to attach it to the card front to add some dimension. I then glued the small sentiment to the lower right corner of the sentiment. The last touch was to add a few sequins to add more pazazz.

This card can be made using any combination of colors and still look great. HAVE FUN!
