Hello crafters! How about some zero calorie sugary goodness for Easter this year? I love the colorful candies, but lord knows I put on the pounds when I gobble them up. Of course, I couldn’t pass up creating with Eggstra Sweet Peeps this Easter and Spring Season. But wouldn’t it be cool if you could give them a bit of personality? Well, Maker Forte did just that with the cutest little faces, bows, bow ties, mustaches and glasses. The possibilities are endless!
For this card I started with the background using the 4 layer Easter Background stencil and blended Color Hive Inks in the colors, Bubble Gum, Grape, Yellowstone, and Blue Moon through it. I love a few things about these stencils, one being that they are to easy to store with pre-punched holes to put into a binder, the other being that they are labeled with the name and layer number. It really takes the guess work out of how to line them up and which comes next making your crafting quick and easy. With that said, I used one color for each layer creating the fun background.
Next, I stamped the Eggstra Sweet Peeps onto Perfect Blend Cardstock with Color Hive Eclipse ink and colored them with basic Copic blends and fussy cut them out. I also stamped the sentiment from the same stamp set and ink, and heat embossed it with clear powder. And since every peep needs a little sugar, I added Sugar Spark Glitter in the color Snow Flurries to them. So cute right? Once the peeps were arranged onto the stenciled background I matted it with Grape Cardstock and then adhered them to an A2 Top Fold Perfect Fold Card Base. To finish off the card I added a few sequins from my stash for a little shimmer and shine! I hope you will give this card a try!
