Hello…Kari here today with a Fancy Boots Howdy card to share! I love the new stamp set with lots of boot designs. You know, boots don’t have to be just a boring brown, they can be any color you like! That’s one of the fun things about making cards…they don’t have to necessarily be realistic. Today I chose some of my favorite colors for these floral boots.

I stamped one of the boots on cardstock, then stamped it again onto masking paper. I put the mask over the boot and stamped it again in a different position. This gives the illusion of 2 boots “walking.”
I colored them up with Copic markers and fussy cut the entire image.
For the background, I inked on some Flat White ink over the “Walk the Plank” stencil. I did only a light layer as I wanted those boots to be the shining star of the card!

I then built and stamped the word “HOWDY” from the new Mini Farmhouse Font stamp set with Welsh Dragon Ink. This stamp set has sold out fast a few times already…but keep checking back because they are always re-stocking!
The sub-sentiment “If it ain’t dirty, it ain’t fun” reminds me of my son! He was very much into all things dirt when he was a kid. This sentiment comes with the boot stamp set. I colored up the sentiment strip with a tan Copic Marker, leaving in lines to look kinda like wood.

Last, I matted it all onto Welsh Dragon cardstock. I love how this card turned out!
Now, if you are not into coloring, these boots also look great on a stamped background of color! Here I stamped out a watercolor splash stamp with a bright ink (Red Liecester). Then I heat embossed that boot over the top. [Note: I believe this watercolor splash stamp was a HSN exclusive, but I have linked the slimline set for you, which is another favorite of mine!]

I really like that sentiment as well….it’s a great reminder! So there’s a couple options for you with this stamp set.
