Happy Friday, crafty friends! Jen here on the blog today with an easy inlay die cutting card using the amazing Beautiful Butterfly die set.
This die is fabulous for layering! However, today I will only be using the die with the most amount of negative space; which is the first die in the picture below.

Step 1
Cut a piece of Bristol Smooth cardstock to 5 ¾ x 5 ¾. Place the butterfly die onto the cardstock in an orientation that you like. Run through your die cutting machine.
Step 2
After die cutting, there will be two pieces. The negative die cut (the empty space left after the intricate die cut is removed) and the intricate die cut. Take the intricate die cut and place it over the white space on the negative piece. Use this intricate die and ink to create a stencil pattern on the cardstock.
Step 3
Cut another piece of Bristol Smooth cardstock large enough to fit behind the negative die cut without showing any edges. Color this piece of cardstock. I used Creative Expressions Pixie Powders in a few different colors. Next, color the intricate butterfly die cut.
Step 4
Adhere the negative die cut to the piece that cardstock that was just colored (in Pixie Powders). Using a Thermoweb Sticky Dot sheet or a fine tip glue, add adhesive to the back of the intricate die cut. Fit this die cut into the negative butterfly.
Step 5
Finish the card adding lots of splatter and a sentiment.

I hope you create something today! Thanks so much for stopping by!
