Hey, y’all! It’s Jill from Jill Cameron Creations today. I’m sharing how to use Kaleidoscope Powder on cards for guys in your life. It’s a great way to add super shine to a card without it being girly or glittery.
Both cards are straightforward cards to create and can suit many needs of your guy. I’m using the Deer to Me stamp and stencil set along with embossing ink and Kaleidoscope Powders.
This stamp has a lot of surface area to it, so be sure to clean it really well. Also, ink it up a few times and stamp it off on some scrap paper. The stamped image will be much better because the surface of the stamp accepts ink much better. I do this will all of my clear stamps before I use them on a project.
For the first card, I’m doing an almost tone-on-tone look. I stamped the image in white pigment ink on kraft cardstock and dried it completely.
Next, I stamped the image again in embossing ink. I used the small brush to apply Kaleidoscope Powder all over the embossing ink. I used the large brush to sweep away any extra.
To make sure the powder stays put and doesn’t rub off, I misted it with water. And by mist, I mean a super fine mist.
The next card is more traditional in color. I stamped the image in dark brown ink on white cardstock.
I used some washi tape to place the coordinating stencil in place over the stamped image. Then, I used an ink blending tool to apply embossing ink to the white areas inside the stamped image.
Using the same process as before, I used the small brush tool to apply powder over the white areas where the embossing ink was applied.
The shine isn’t as obvious on this card in the pictures. But it’s the same warm glow as the first card but with a clear powder. It’s so pretty in person.
