Hey y’all! It’s Jill from Jill Cameron Creations. I’m sharing a card for the guys using layered stenciled images. We’ll add some shine too with a subtle metal look in the background.

Layered Stenciled Images for the Guys

The first layered stencil image is created using The Buck Stops here stencil. It has an outline and the geo lines of the image. I used the negative outer edge of the stencil to create an outline of the stenciled image. I used a black journaling pen for this.

Next, add in the stencil of the Buck. I ink blended bright blues starting with the darkest color first and ending with the lightest color in the center. Once that’s dry, use a pair of scissors to cut out around the line you created with the black pen. Set aside.

Now, use Distress Oxide ink to ink blend the background. I used the Unbe*leaf*able stencil. The stencil is not made to create slimline cards but by placing the stenciled Buck strategically you’ll never know where the stencil line ends and begins.

Since Distress Oxide ink takes slightly longer to dry than regular dye inks, it allows the addition of Kaleidoscope powder. I used Blackhole. This gives the background a metallic look and not just shiny.

The leaves from the Gorgeous Gardenias stamp set coordinate with the background stencil nicely. I stamped a few of the leaves and fussy cut them out.

I used liquid glue to layer all of the stenciled and stamped images.

I hope you enjoyed how to use layered stenciled images to create a card for the guys that has shimmer without being sparkly.
