Hello fellow card makers,

Now that the weather has turned hot, what better way to spend the day then to stay inside and create cards. Today i am making a card for someone special using stamps from Maker Forte. The three stamps are ’Bloom and Grow/Poppy, Straight and Narrow (white rubber) and Simple Sayings with all my Heart’. I will use both ink and embossing powders to create. This will be a simple card but will look much more involved.

The first step is to stamp the poppies on white card stock. Using ink markers (I use Copic) color the flowers and stems. Cut out the image and set aside.

The second step is to cut the card stock to size. This is a standard A2 card so the base is 5.5 x 4.25 inches. I chose dark red for the base to enhance the flowers. Next cut a layer 1 (5.25x 4 inches) in a neutral color (for me it is gray). On this layer I embossed in black the ’Straight and Narrow’ background stamp.

At this point I determined the card needed a bit more embellishing. I cut three thin strip of black card stock in various widths. These will be placed together to create an area to anchor the flowers.

The final piece to the card is the sentiment. This step involves cutting a black strip big enough to emboss in white the chosen sentiment. Once all this is done the only thing left to do is to assemble the pieces.

The final step is glueing the layers and pieces together. To add some dimension the flowers were attached using foam tape. For some extra bling I added gold sequins.

This is an easy card to make and will work well with other sentiments. Enjoy!
