Happy Friday, crafty friends! Jen here on the blog today creating a fun card using the Maker Forte stamp set, Nesting Dolls along with the Cascading Diamonds Stencil.

This is such a fun set to create with! I knew that I wanted to use every one of the Nesting Dolls on my card but I didn’t want to create a slimline. So the other option was to create the card with the dolls inside.

Step 1

Grab your favorite alcohol marker friendly cardstock in 8 ½ X 11 size. To fit all of the nesting dolls onto one piece of cardstock, make sure that the 11” side of the paper is oriented horizontally. Place the largest stamping doll stamp onto an acrylic block and ink up with Maker Forte Black ink. Stamp the image about ½ “ away from the left hand side of the paper. Repeat stamping with each size of nesting doll making sure to stamp right next to the previous image.

Step 2

Once all of the images have been stamped, pick your favorite alcohol markers and color up all of the images.

Step 3

Fussy cut the images out, keeping them all together. Do not cut them out individually.

Step 4

Create a 4 ¼ X 5 ½ white card base. Stamp the sentiment “It’s on the Inside that Counts” from the stamp set. Create a mask strip that is a little larger than the sentiment. Place the mask over the sentiment. Stamp a nesting doll over the mask. Remove the mask.

Step 5

On the inside of the card blend Distress Ink in Salvaged Patina through the Cascading Diamonds stencil.

Step 6

Using the nesting dolls images from Step 3, fold along each doll accordion style (so that they fold when the card closes). Place the folded dolls inside of the card and practice opening and closing to make sure that the dolls fold correctly. Adhere the largest doll to the inside left of the card and adhere the smallest doll to the inside right of the card.

I hope you create something today! Thanks so much for stopping by!
