Hi there,
It’s Kaja from Kajcyika crafts and today I will show you how to easily crete a multi color stenciled background!

Take a look:

This time around, I wanted to make a card that will have a masculine feel to it and my favorite technique to do so is definetelly stenciling.

First, I took one stencil from the Stepped Cubes Add On – Flurry of Flowers stencil set, which is actually a two pack. Then, I stenciled the pattern using distress oxide inks in blue shades. I used two different colors, so I got a simple ombre look that gives a nice dimension.

Next, I took the second stencil from the set and ink blended the pattern using green distress oxides. This created a beautiful two color background that is perfect for simple masculine cards!

To add a focal point to the card, I stamped out a floral image from the Thankful everything stamp set. I decided to stamp it in black and then leave the image as is without coloring. This makes the stenciled background stand out even more.

The last thing I added was the sentiment that reads ‘Happy birthday’. The word ‘Happy’ is from the Thankful everything stamp set and the ‘Birthday’ is from American Sign Language Happy stamp set. I stamped it directly over the stanciled image and I made sure I used black ink that is bold enough to be seen over the background.

I then glued everything together onto a landscape card front and the card was all finished! This is really a simple way to create a bold background with very little effort.

Thank you for joining me today! Let me know in the comments if you like two piece stencils and the multi color stenciled background technique! I must admit that I do!

Hugs,
Kaja
