Hello! It’s Kari here today sharing the NEW Deer to Me Slimline die. I have 3 cards to share and a video! But first, have you seen the entire NEW RELEASE?! It’s so, so good…filled with Christmas in July goodies (and some not-so-Christmasy…like this Deer to Me Slimline die).
For these cards, I’m creating some simple Alcohol Inked Backgrounds…and look how fun these turn out! What a great way to use some backgrounds like these. I die cut the Deer To Me with both Eclipse black cardstock and Silver Glitter Cardstock (also NEW!)
To start, I took some Photo Paper (you know, the glossy paper we used to have for printing photos?) and just started! I found that alcohol inks can be intimidating sometimes, but the fun of NOT KNOWING just how they are going to turn out makes me curious.
Try this simple technique for Alcohol Inks:
Add some drops of Alcohol Blending Fluid to the photo paper
Drop on some Alcohol inks…use one or two colors to start
Use an air spritzer to move the inks around
Add more Blending Fluid or ink to suit your taste
Allow to dry and use for background!
It’s so easy…and look how that card on the top right looks like there’s mountains and clouds created in the background!
Remember to use the extra silver glitter paper on another card…her I took the pieces from the center of the die and inlaid them into another frame cut with British Racing Green cardstock.
I love how many techniques you can use for behind these slimline dies. Remember the Elephant Die where I stamped on the background? I used some striped stamps and Mansi’s Art Marks for this one. So fun!
So give some of these techniques a try for your slimline dies. I can’t wait to see what you create!
