Hi there,
It’s Kaja from Kajcyika crafts and today I made a cute one layer masked card which I will send out to a friend. I used a technique I haven’t used in a while — masking!
Take a look:

I started making this card by stamping out the dinosaur from Rawrsome stamp set directly on my card base. I used black ink since I knew that I will be masking it and it will need to be bold.
Next, I colored it in using alcohol markers in traditional dino colors. For ballons, I decided to go with three colors — Pink, Red and Purple. Once I was done with coloring I stamped the same image on a piece of masking paper and fussy cut the dino out to create a mask.

Then, I masked the image and took the Trapezoids & Parallelograms stancil and placed it over the masked dinosaur and started ink blending. I decided to use greens and blues which go nicely with the colored image. This time, I didn’t want to create an ombre effect, so I just did random circles of both colors which create a nice and interesting background.
Once I was happy with the blending, I removed the stencil and the mask to reveal the cool looking card. The different colors and the bold lines of the stamped images really help bring this card to life.

The only missing thing was the sentiment and this time I decided to go with a simple ‘Your’re dino-mite’ which can be found in Rawrsome stamp set. I used black ink so the saying can be read easily.
This finished off this simple one layer masked card! Let me know in the comments what is your favorite medium for masking!
Hugs,
Kaja
