Hi everyone! Carisa here with you today and I’m sharing probably one of my favorite cards I’ve made in awhile. I absolutely fell in love with the cute little images in THIS stamp set and knew that I wanted to use watercolors to create a very simple scene.

I started by stamping my two little bears on cold press watercolor paper. Then I took this cloud stencil and traced the clouds around my images to create the outline of the sky I would fill with watercolor. I was inspired by the beautiful sunsets we’ve had this fall and chose warm pinks, peaches and ochers for each cloud layer. Working wet on wet I continued until the entire background was filled. I added a green ground for the bears to sit on.

After my background was dry, I added color to my bears also using a wet on wet watercolor technique. This technique is honestly my favorite for watercolor because I love the loose, imperfect storybook style it adds to the characters. After I was done with that, I stamped my sentiment and one of the little hearts in the stamp set and just mounted it on a standard A2 card base with foam tape. I used a white gel pen to add some details but kept it very simple. I think it turned out so cute!
