Hi everyone! Carisa with you on the blog and today I want to share with you a fast, fun and simple card to celebrate the 4th of July with you and all our amazing service members. This card features Maker Forte Bokeh Stars stencil which really makes this card come together. Using this same technique but changing the colors, this card would work well for Christmas and New Years or even birthday celebrations!

I started by using the largest star stencil from the bokeh stencil set. This set is so cool because it contains 4 different sizes of stencils to create this fun effect but you could certainly use them individually as well. I love versatility of a product! For the largest stencil, I decide to ink blend with Distress Oxides Candied Apple. I wanted bright colors for this card.

I couldn’t really use white ink on white cardstock so I chose pumice stone as my “white” stars. I absolutely love it and it’s perfect for giving that added dimension without taking away from the feel of this card.

Next, I used the size smaller stars and blended through the stencil with Blueprint Sketch Distress Oxide. Gosh, I love the vibrancy of this blue – it just pops. One thing I love about blending with the distress oxides is that the layer underneath stays in tact but adds gorgeous dimension.

We have one more stencil left and this is the smallest size stars in the pack. I just lined it up to my liking and used pumice stone once again. I really love the look of the layering this stencil gives in such a short amount of time. Using the Perfect Blend cardstock really helps, too.

This is what my card panel looked like wen I was all done. I love how the stars layer each other to create this cool bokeh dimension!

I love me a good splatter so I pulled out the matching Distress Oxide Spray in Blueprint Sketch and just removed the nozzle to add a bit of a splash of color to the background. I think this adds so much interest and depth to the background.

To finish the card, I die cut a sentiment 3 times and embossed the top one with red, white and blue embossing powder. I adhered all 3 together to create a little bit of dimension then stamped a sentiment from the Because of the Brave stamp set. I absolutely love how this card turned out and hope you enjoyed seeing the Bokeh Stars stencil in action!
