Hello! Do you love to make Slimline cards? If so, I have a great post for you today! And if you haven’t made a slimline card yet…this secret will make you LOVE slimline cards! I can’t believe this hasn’t been a “thing” before. Maker Forte has done it again with this new Slimline Paper.

A few months ago, Maker Forte released a 6×6 paper pack that was black and white, printed with toner (which makes it perfect for foiling)! NOW, Maker Forte has this same formula in SLIMLINE format! I love this paper. You can, of course, use this black and white paper just as it is. But I love to step it up a bit. Today I will show you how to use it with foil, ink blending, and Copic coloring.

I have a video sharing it all, including the process for creating four cards, watch it below or in HD on YouTube:

Card 1

Did you know that this paper is great for ink blending? I made this first card with just a touch of ink blending (using a favorite ergonomic blending brush) and added some die cuts. The paper and the background design really makes this card so easy!

I love the designs on this paper!

Card 2

This next card was an experiment. I wanted to see if you could still foil the paper AFTER it had been ink blended. The answer is: YES!

Just look at that foiled background!! I used some silver holographic foil on this one. Then I added some glittered die cut letters (I show you an easy way to dip-glitter your letters in the video).

Breathe is my word of the year, so this card has a special meaning for me. I thought it needed a cloud border, and I stretched out my regular A2-sized cloud border die into a slimline sized die. This is easy to do with a simple die-cutting trick where you don’t die cut the end to “stretch” it out. I show you how to do this in my video also! (It’s so much easier to show you in a video than in a blog post).

Card 3

For this next card, I used the black and white paper alone, but I Copic colored the leaves with greens and blues. This paper colors beautifully!

I added a copic-colored bear and a sentiment from Maker Forte’s Simple Sayings. Isn’t this so perfect for this card?

Card 4

The last card is foiled with a teal foil, then some fun Happy Flowers (designed by Alex Syberia) added for a very fun card!

I hope you enjoyed this look at some easy cards with the Slimline Paper Pack! They were certainly so fun to put together! I’ll see you soon with more card inspiration.
