Hi there,
It’s Kaja from Kajcyika crafts and today I am here on Maker Forte blog with a simple floral card which has an important message – Sending hugs. These last few months I was mainly making holiday cards, so it was about time to created something that was not holiday related.

Take a look at the card:

If you know my style than you know that I love making floral cards and when I do so, I usually color the blooms with watercolor markers. This year, I tried a new technique which is called no blend coloring with alcohol markers. The result of this technique are bold colors and I must admit that I really enjoy coloring in this style.

I started making this card by stamping out the flowers from Christmas rose stamp set. To get a full bouquet I decided to used 4 flowers and 3 leaves.

Then, I started coloring the image in using alcohol markers in purple color. First, I used the lightest shade and then moved to the middle and dark tones. I made sure that the transition among colors is clearly visible, since this is the magic of this technique.

Once I was happy with the coloring, I added some white gel pen details which make the coloring and the images even more interesting.

Next, I added the sentiment from Sending and wishing stamp set which reads ‘Sending hugs’. I used black ink on a piece of white card stock and this makes the sentiment pop out even more.

The last thing I added was the background piece for which I used a black and white stipped paper from the Rosey Days paper pack. I love the bold background since it really makes the flowers stand out.

I think it’s important to send cards like this in this uncertain times. Let me know in the comments how many cards did you send out these days!

Hugs,
Kaja
