Sketched Peony and Dramatic Background

Hey! Hope your Friday has started well! By the way, Fridays are the best days of the week in my opinion… therefore I’m sharing two birthday cards… logically or not 😉

For these cards, I used a new stamp from Maker Forte called Sketched Peony by Alex Syberia Design, and it goes so well with a dramatic background. I have longed to use this stamp since I first saw it.

I started by making a simple masking technique where I stamped a bouquet of flowers in the bottom right corner. I colored everything with Copic markers. I finished by drawing some yellow lines on the tops of the petals to make the flowers a little more interesting.

I decided to stamp a few dots to create a little more interest in this simple one layer card. That stamp you can find in Oh What Fun stamp set. I also used a stencil called 3D Background to create a dramatic background for this card.

Card number two has a little more dimension to it. I used the same flower stamps, but this time I stamped them in versafin ink so I could paint them with watercolors. I chose red tones that went in the purple direction. I cut out all the flowers and used foum tape to the backside. This creates som fun dimention to the card. I love this background, it’s so dramatic with black and glitter. Used Eclipse black paper and glitter.

Thanks for coming by to see my cards featuring the Sketched Peony set with beautiful dramatic backgrounds. I hope you have a great weekend!
