Good morning, Sharon here from Hummingbird Papercrafts. I have some inspiration for you today using The Sunflower Zentangle Stamp and the Sunflower Layered Stencil.

I have a You Tube video showing you how I made this card which you can find here.

If you just want to following along then keep reading. I started the card by gathering the products I needed:

Using the stamp I inked it with Color Hive Clear ink then pressed an A2 piece of Ultra White Heavy Weight Cardstock on to it adding pressure with my Smoosher

When I had inked my card I added clear embossing powder and heated it with a heat gun. This gives a glossy finish to stamped image and any ink added to this will be resisted by the color.

I taped the image in place on my Make Art Stay-tion and placed the first layer of the stencil over it. This was inked with California Love Ink using a blending brush.

The next layer is the petals and I used Red Leister Ink on these.

The center of the flower was colored with 2 shades of Distress Ink. The stenciled flower was then gently buffed to remove the ink from the embossed lines – this made the stamp image pop from under the stenciled colors.

I wanted a sentiment for the card and felt that the Spring is Sprung Simple Sayings were perfect.

I cut these with the Simply Stated Die, chose the one I wanted and, as these are printed in toner ink, I added Gold Deco Foil Transfer Foil to the words.

When I placed this against my card front it was lost in the white so I chose some coordinating orange card stock and cut a strip using the same die. This was glued to the sentiment offset so it shadowed the sentiment making it stand out.

I folded an A2 Top Fold Card Base and matted it with orange cardstock. I then added my card topper. Both the mat and my topper were adhered with wet glue. My sentiment was fixed in place with foam squares.

As I love adding bling to my cards I decided to use the Lemon Crown Jewel Gems. I placed some Maker Magic Crystal Clear Glue in to one of the Maker Magic Rings. This makes it easy to use tiny amounts of glue which is what is needed for the gems. The Magic Wand makes placing the gems easier than using my fat fingers!

This finished my card, the embossing really gives a different texture to the stenciled flower but both are visible on the card.

Thank you for taking time to read my post. I would love to know what you think of my card and don’t forget to check out my video for a more detailed explanation of my card.
