Hi All,

I was asked recently when would I be posting Christmas cards? I am just not ready for Christmas cards so I thought I would start with a Christmas gift tag. The newly released “Happy Crawlidays” by Maker Forte and designed by Jess Francisco was the perfect place to start my Christmas creations. I hope you all are in agreement with me.

I started by using a cream colored tag from the Maker Forte collection. On the tag I blended shades of blue ink to create a water background. I went light to dark going down the tag. Onto the blue ink I splattered white paint. In case you do not know, Maker Forte has some great red rubber stamps that are in various arrangements of dots to create the same splattered look.

Since tags are not vary wide I only chose three stamps for the tag. I quickly realized that three was too much and had to pick one to eliminate. Bye to the lobster.

Now for the other background pieces. I cut a small strip of paper to create a weathered looking piece of wood to stamp the sentiment.

Next I found a scrape of ribbon in blue with darker blue circles on it. I thought this would work well for the tag tie.

The final piece was the sand at the bottom of the tag to anchor the scene. I cut a piece of light brown card stock freehand and using the “Splatter Rubber Stamp, style #2” to add darker brown splatter to create a sand bottom.

The final step was to layer in the focal images starting with the adorable pineapple ‘Christmas Tree’. The sentiment board and crab were added next. Not being able to stop I added bits of coral stamped with the splatter stamp and tiny pearls to finish the scene.

I hope this inspires others to start on their Christmas cards and tags. Now get working because the holiday will be here before you know it!
