Hello again my crafty friends. Coming to you with a little bit of a different card. When I first saw the Take Root set, I saw bear trees. Immediately I thought of a spooky Halloween cards. I know the name tells me its roots, but I didn’t see that. So I laid it on my desk waiting for inspiration to hit. And it did

I’m using a Slimline Card Base for this one. So it doesn’t look so stark white, I distressed the edges with Frappe ink and Ground Espresso Distress ink.

Going through my huge stash of pattern paper, I found the perfect piece for this card. I cut it to fit and rounded the corners. To stamp the root and the tree, I just placed the paper down and arranged my stamps. I lifted the pattern paper and stamped the images using the Distress ink.

I just love the way the tree turned out. I started by loosing coloring the base leaves with YG03. Leaving some holes and and coloring just around the branches. Next I went in with the darker G99 at the base of the leaf cluster. Then I colored just above that with YG95 and YG93. Blending it again with the lightest color.

To finish off the card, I stamped the sentiment again with the Distress ink. I fussy cut it out and added dimensional foam tape. I centered it over the pattern paper piece.

Thanks for following along. Hope you think outside the box

Until next time – Jackie ❤
