I love bold background stamps. Sometimes you want a bit more of a subtle look to your background. So I have a few tips for toning down the boldness of your big background stamps.

I like to heat emboss them in white embossing powder and use some soft colors to ink blend over the designs.

Trimming down the background panel to have a border around the edge also helps to give your card a softer look.

Adding a piece of colorful cardstock as a mat behind a trimmed down background is a nice touch as well. You can also see that I have added twine to each of my cards today as well. I always find that gives your eye a place to rest and breaks up the background as well.
