Hello friends! Katy here with a great way to use vellum to soften bold backgrounds.
I started by ink blending a piece of heavyweight white cardstock with Neon Lights, Welsh Dragon and Tartan Teal Color Hive Inks. Once my panel was blended I used the Snowflake Trio Stencil and used one of the snowflakes and centered it on my panel and used Tartan Teal to blend on a bold snowflake. I used Snow Flurries White Pigment ink to create a border of snowflakes around the panel to fill in.
Because the background is a bit bold, I used vellum to create an overlay which gave me a place to put my sentiment, which came from the Bold Holiday Sentiments stamp set.
The video below has all the details. If you have trouble watching here on the blog, click here to watch on Youtube.
For my sentiment I used the Snow Flurries White Pigment Ink stamped 3 times and then used Clear Embossing powder to secure the ink.
here is an up close and look at that shine from the embossing powder!!
