Hi there,

It’s Kaja from Kajcyika crafts here with you today! The Valentine’s day has just passed, so I can finally show you a card I made for my boyfriend. I think it’s important to show love and care even when it’s not a holiday, so you can make a card like this any time of the year. This year, I made him a card with watercolor looking background.

Take a look at the card:

For this card, I decided to go with a distressed background look. First, I took a piece of watercolor paper and Watercolor hearts background stamp set. Then, I positioned the stamp towards the top edge of my paper and stamped the hearts in two shades of purple.

I made sure that the ink I was using was water based. This is important because once I was finished with stamping, I used wet cloth and smeared the ink from top to bottom which gives the background a nice watercolored and distressed look.

Once the background was finished, I moved on and stamped a cute dinosaur from Rawrsome stamp set. I colored it in using alcohol markers in green and purple shades.

Of course something was missing, so I added the sentiment that reads ‘Love you’ from the You matter to me stamp set.

The last thing to do was to add a white border to my background with white gel pen which connects it nicely to the rest of the card.

I glued everything together usnig double sided tape and foam dots.

Thank you so much for joining me! Let me know in the comments if you made a Valentine’s day card this year and what do you think about this watercolor looking background!

Hugs,

Kaja
