Hello all, Adam here with a different take on a stencil set by Maker Forte! I decided to use the layered sunglasses insert as my inspiration and go from there. As you can see from my finished card I incorporated the layered stencil into my background. I was surprised how well they worked together. I’ll tell you a secret about this card though: it was going to be a Slimline card with the two sunglasses parts but I could not get it to look the way I wanted it to be. So I change the card to a standard A-2 size.

I layered the scene using the stencil. I was happy with the way it looked and using a stitched circle die cut out the now two scenes. When I went to create the card stock background scene I could not get it all to fit onto a Slimline card base. This is when I started over on the background and changed to the other A-2 card base.

I matched the background layers to to the stenciled image I just colored. This actually turned out easier to do then I first thought.

I finished the card by adding some birds in the sky and a blue frame for the focal image. I proceeded to attach the image using foam tape to separate it from the background. The final step was to stamp and attach the sentiment. I now have enough left over pieces to make a second similar card so my efforts toward making a Slimline did not go to waste. Yah!
